Data Deletion
Last updated: July 10, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Parendipity account, what is removed or retained, and how Google and billing connections are handled.
Primary path: delete in the app
- Open the Parendipity mobile app while signed in.
- Go to Settings, then Account and data.
- Tap Delete account.
- Review the current deletion preview shown by the server.
- Type DELETE exactly and tap Permanently delete account, or Delete now anyway if an active Apple subscription warning is shown.
If you cannot access the app, email support@parendipity.ai from the Google account you used with Parendipity and include "Delete my Parendipity account" in the subject line. Support is the fallback path, not the normal deletion path.
What is deleted or deidentified
- Your profile, email address, avatar, timezone, sessions, mobile tokens, mobile auth codes, magic-email token, push devices, and notification preferences.
- Local Gmail-derived source data, event links, scan metadata, digest snapshots, notification jobs, queued scans, watch renewals, and connected-calendar preferences tied to your account.
- Your assignments, responsibilities, invitations, grants, authored-by references, and personal source preferences are removed or detached from your identity.
- If you are the only household member, child profiles and household records that no other member can access are removed or deidentified where safe.
What may remain
- If other household members remain, genuinely shared household records needed by them may stay available, but your personal identity and source data are removed or deidentified.
- Minimum deidentified billing, tax, refund, fraud, security, and deletion-audit records may remain as legally or operationally required.
- Backup copies age out on their normal cycle and are not used to recreate deleted accounts except where required for fraud, security, or legal reasons.
Google access and calendar data
During deletion, Parendipity attempts to revoke its Google OAuth access through Google's revocation endpoint with a bounded timeout. If Google is unavailable, deletion still clears local credentials, marks the connection revoked, and prevents future scans, syncs, watch renewals, and notifications from resuming.
Parendipity removes local Gmail and Calendar links it stores. It does not delete arbitrary user-created Google Calendar events. You can also revoke Parendipity's Google access directly at myaccount.google.com, Security, Third-party access. Google revocation stops future access but does not delete your Parendipity account by itself.
Billing behavior
Apple subscriptions are managed by Apple. Deleting your Parendipity account does not cancel Apple billing, so the app offers native Apple subscription management before deletion and still allows immediate deletion.
If an active Stripe recurrence is owned by you or by a sole-member household, Parendipity cancels it before irreversible local deletion finishes. If Stripe cannot confirm cancellation, deletion stops so you can retry.
Expected timing
- In-app deletion usually completes within seconds after final confirmation.
- Google remote revocation is attempted immediately, with local credentials cleared even if Google is temporarily unavailable.
- Active records are removed or deidentified during the deletion operation. Backup copies age out on their normal cycle.
- Support-assisted fallback requests may take longer because we must verify account ownership.
